From full time van life to full time van builder.
In 2019 Anthony Brooks set out with a simple goal - convert an empty van into a cozy, full-time living space. It ended up being far more complicated than he had imagined, and with the closest van conversion business at least an hour away, he had to figure most of it out himself.
After a year of long hours working on the rig and drawing heavily on his past experience in general contracting, he began to feel at home in his little van. A lower cost of living and enhanced mobility freed him to get outside more often and explore the world, just like he always wanted to.
After completing his project, Anthony began helping others with their van conversions.

In 2023 Jonmichael Halvorson joined the company, while working on completing his own van conversion. He brings a passion for off-grid living and exploring to the company, applying his experience in marketing, design, and past entrepreneurial ventures to produce unique van conversions that translate each client’s vision into reality.

Our most commonly asked question - and we still don’t have an exact answer! We’ve converted small vans for $10,000 and we’ve also built out vans for over $160,000. That said, we find that most of our projects cost between $60,000-$100,000.
As a custom shop, no two builds we take on are the same (unless you want one we’ve done before). This flexibility means pricing varies significantly.

Start to finish, most of our projects take 1-3 months to complete. We pride ourselves in crafting high quality vans, and don’t want to rush the process.
While the construction process takes 1-3 months, we often work with a client for 1-2 months before the start of construction, to source the required materials, reworking the estimate until it fits their budget while ironing out the layout, ensuring each component they want is included in the master plan.

We are typically booked out 2-4 months for new van conversions. That said, we also take on smaller projects while we are working on a full build. If you have a smaller project you need assistance with, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Our clients typically already own a van that they bring to us to be converted. However, we are happy to help you source a van or inform you of the differences between the various brands on the market and our experience with them.
Please note: our van conversion pricing does not include the price of the van.

We are a fully custom shop and often take on projects of smaller scale to help the community when we can.

Vanthony Conversions is a team of two craftsman who work closely with a select few clients each year to build handcrafted custom vans for life’s greatest adventures. We listen to each clients’ unique requests and mold each van to your specific style and needs – no two vans we build are the same.
Our name comes from a combination of the word “Van” and our founder’s name “Anthony” - hence, Vanthony :)
